Actions

The MACS GdR encourages the creation of working groups on prospective or evolving subjects. To this end, it has set up the ‘MACS Actions’, the principle of which is to bring together colleagues from several laboratories to work on a given topic over a short period of time (typically 1 to 2 years), with a deliverable at the end of the action such as the organisation of a seminar, the creation of a white paper, etc. The aim is to carry out a collective reflection, share the conclusions with the community, and even set up a group for the future. The aim is to conduct a collective reflection, share the conclusions with the community, and even form a group for more ambitious projects. Projects of MACS action are submitted online on an ongoing basis. The steering committee undertakes to analyse the request in less than 2 months, to make recommendations and, after a small number of iterations, to decide on the launch of the action. Each project receives basic funding of €1,000 or more when it is launched, and can apply for additional funding at a later date. A member of the Management Committee is systematically appointed as the action's rapporteur and ensures that it is followed up.
