MACS research focuses on the design of decision-making systems that interact with dynamic processes. The interaction between these two elements may be based on deductive or abductive reasoning, but ultimately aims for a closed-loop type of interaction. The subjects of study are the analysis of the properties of the interaction obtained, and the synthesis of the decision-making system that realises these properties. As scientists, MACS researchers develop methods, often associated with numerical tools, and in interaction with the very many applications in engineering and other scientific fields.
